Looks very good for a first attempt Neil. Did you achieve the cobblestone effect with lentils, or something else?
My advice would be to add much more rubble. With half of a building's area destroyed, there should be a significant amount of rubble inside and around the structure. I would also scatter the rubble instead of having it in a neat pile at the foot of each building.
I'm looking forward to updates,
Chas

Neil,
Well from what I can see in the photo it looks like a pretty good start for a 1st diorama.
It's hard to tell from the photo so bare with me on some comments and disregard them if my perception is incorrect.
I agree with Chas on the rubble and assume that you will be adding more as you progress..
I'm not seeing any sidewalks? I assume this to be an intersection with a statue or fountain (round item) in the center but where are the sidewalks and curbs?
I know that it's probably too early as these are your preliminary photos of a piece that has just been started so perhaps my observations are premature.
The building walls look good (did you cast them yourself?) and I look forward to seeing this painted up.
Cheers,
Charles

Thank you Charles, you are right on all counts lol, more rubble, bricks and timber yet to be added. The scene is an intersection of town showing house to house fighting between the two sides flack trailer and sherman yet to be added. Ok now the hard bit the side walks and kerbs beat me up pretty bad as i had no idea of how to do these i made several attemps but all failed . Ok next part, yes i cast the buildings myself useing moulds from a company call form-u-lay and i am waiting for some new moulds to arrive that will allow me to cast side walks so fingers crossed my next dio will have side walks and kerbs .
Thanks for your comments they mean a lot.
