Hi all,
I'm a keen modeller and regular to these boards---occasionally I send links to threads to my non-modelling colleague that illustrate the incredible results achieved and also some of the light-hearted elements -- confessional pictures of members' vast stashes, wincingly funny injury stories and the like. I also try to seek out the most obscure subjects availably to buy (as opposed to scratchbuilt) - scale outhouses, dead cows ---I just came across this thread and am dying to find an image of said figures - I've searched the Verlinden site but no joy. Anyone know where I can find a pic? I am at work on lunchbreak and hesistate to conduct a thorough search in case the terms I might need to use raise eyebrows!!!
Cheers
A

Hi Andronicus
I think the set you mean is 'things to do' VPI1472.
Do a search for 'VPI1472' at www.greatmodels.com (the only site I could find that had a picture of it).

Hi Mark,
That's lovely (in a loose sense of the word). Many thanks for that - my friend couldn't quite believe it so I had to get proof!
Happy new year!

Hi
If you think that's tacky, I think MK35 or Nemrod do a figure of a girl crouched down in the act.
Hornet have a German soldier, I think the title is relief at the front, taking a leak and Masterbox recent motorcyclist set also have one doing the same.
I just wonder if any of these sell enough to be worth the effort. I can't see me ever creating a diorama with their inclusion to be honest.

I've only seen one diorama with these guys. It was a guy peeing on a destroyed T-34, and it wasn't a bad dio!

I think as with any hobby a slightly cynical "because they'll buy anything" attitude can creep in at times.
I'd've thought if a person can assemble, mod and paint kits to the standard shown on these boards a little creative alteration of a standard figure with putty wouldn't be beyond anyone if they really wanted to depict things like that...

Guys,
Regarding those sets of figures doing their "business" I was sort of half planning a small scene having a German peeing off a bridge with a Russian scout sneeking up on him with a knife drawn, ready to dispatch him ... thought It might make an interesting scene,
any thoughts ,
Jerry

I can't see an entire diorama done around it, just like having dead bodies. In some dio's I've done, if you look hard enough, you'll find a body or two. Somthing like a guy taking a leak on the tire of a vehicle can add a little humor, because face it, we've all done it.

Per Alan's post, here's a link to the Mk35 figure he mentioned:
http://www.mk35.com/components/com_virtuemart/shop_image/product/251762674379e22d9b72f560c52afbb3.jpg
I guess some dioramas or vignettes might have a spot for something like this, but I wouldn't be surprised to hear that they don't sell a lot of these. Having a soldier taking a whiz on an enemy tank or off a bridge or out behind the zeltbahn might be more likely. I don't do a lot of figures, so I'm not aware of that side of our hobby very much.

I used the Verlinden "Relief at the Front" in a German river crossing diorama ...I thought the figures added to the scene. They are very well made and detailed. I also think the one of the gal is not compatible with my modeling ends (so to speak).

Hey Jerry,
I think that diorama is quite a good idea. If I were you, I would have him peeing on something that belongs to the Soviet army or something like that(to make the Soviet scout angry).
Well thats just my opinion
