Slower year (I am a slow enough builder as it is, due to hectic family life)

I have two builds finished and awaiting a base, but that was not completed before the end of 2008.

Calibri Gaz-67 jeep and a Italeri IS-2

Here are the images of what I have built, all in 1:72

As I said earlier, slow year.

Cheers

Ja, soon ripe, soon rotten...

Nice models, my favourite is the SU-85 with its detail painting and the paint job at all (e.g. the shaded drum).

Live base.

Thanks for the pics.

It's not about the quantity it's the quality that counts! Some nice examples here, hope your 2009 is equally productive.

Michael, I see nothing in your post that would call for the “pitiful” label (and yes, I do see the pictures )

I like the SU probably the most (the base is outstanding), but the others are very nice too. As already pointed out, it’s the quality that counts. In that respect you’ve nailed it. So it was a successful year after all, don't you agree…

Hey Mike at least you finished something. I have yet to do so. You've got me beat by three hundred percent.

I saw these at WASMEx this year, but never got the chance to meet the builder!

They look great Michael,

No build too pitiful Michael! That's some fine work there... I personally like the Su-85 too.

My production rate is extremely low compared to yours . . . just about finished with a project that I had started early last year! LOL

Really impressive builds, all the more so being in 1/72. They all look great.

I also had a slow year. Started 7 but only managed to finish 3 Shermans in 1/35 and no bases.

Nice work

Very nice, you built more than I have in the last 3 years! Good job!

Nice builds Mike. I'm personally not convinced that that is a SU-85. It looks more like a SU100 because it has a cylindrical cupola, flat front mud guards, a different mantlet and a much longer gun than the SU-85's.

Just a quick question: What is the Italeri IS-2 like?

Thanks every one for the kind comments. It is indeed an Su-100M. The little vignette is called "Awaiting the Tiger"

Regarding the Italeri IS-2;

Good kit that fits together well but all the grab handles must be butt joined to the turret and the long upper track run does not allow for the characteristic sag of most Soviet armour. It is better than the PST kit though by far.

I got the base basics a couple of days ago. Now the Celluclay is cured, I will be able to finish it.

Thanks a lot Mike. I've got my eye on the IS-2, ISU-122, and ISU-152 to use in some dioramas.
