Hi folk!

I’ll be doing a Ardennes dio soon. I’ve got Dragon’s “Sherman M4A3 (76)W VVSS - Battle of the Bulge” and some Verlinden Us Airborne in overcoats.

I’ve been searching the net, books and movies to find our weather or not Airborne and Armor fought side by side, but haven’t really found sufficient info.

Would an Airborne/Sherman combat dio be totally off?

Ole (':-H')

In the Defense of Bastogne the 101st Airborne fought alongside elements of Combat Command B of the 10th Armored but don't know if they had shermans, but to me its seems quite plausible.

hello Ole,
during the Battle of the Bulge, the 101st fought with all kinds different units.you had Field Artillery Units,Tank Destroyer Units,a jumble of different Infantry Units.most were cut off from there Parent Division's,so they all fought together.
i could see a Dio with a Sherman with 101st Infantry together being done.i think that it would look great.
cheers,
Bruce

Didn't Shermans from 3rd Army (Patton) break through the siege of Bastogne - where the 101st was held by German surrounding forces? I believe there is even a kit of the first Sherman to reach the besieged troops. That would put them nicely together.
