Very nice set, and a long over due issue of U.S. Pacific Marines following Dragons older issue..
I'n not 100% sure but if I'm not mistaken the Garand did not see Guadalcanal until the army took over. The Marines were issued Springfields and some lend lease Enfields. It's also going to be nice to see how they rendered the Reising [ sp ? ].

Is there anything about them that screams "pacific theater only" or could they be used for North Africa or Italy?.

This set is very nice !!!
It looks like there is a big improvement on the head and face profile on this set.
Its a surprise to see the earlier style of SMG .
Well done Dragon.

A big thumbs up!!!

Marines did not see action in North Africa or Italy aside from those stationed aboard naval vessels. This set would be just for the Pacific.

Really nice to see some early war USMC figures !!
They would be useful as 2nd Battalion Raiders in a Makin Atoll or maybe a Battle of Guam diorama.
Aside from the guys with the Springfields and BAR, it looks like the fourth guy has a Reising SMG:

It's great to see a Reising produced in plastic as I don't recall there being one in the old Dragon Allied weapons set.
Cheers

As someone who has (fairly frequently) criticised DML, and although personally the subject area doesn't interest me particularly, i'd definitely say that this is one of the most innovative releases yet from DML. They really deserve kudos for doing something which no-one has every tackled before (even in resin, I don't think there's much) and I hope we're seeing the beginning of a more imaginative release policy...
Of course the final proof will be in the sales. I hope this set sells well and it'll encourage them to do more sets which are a little different. However, the reality (probably) is that being the conservative bunch that we are, it'll get an initial 'Wow!' but will sit on the shelves. Not the fault of DML, rather our own fault for not being as imaginative as we could be?

I'd hate to be thought of as conservative so I'd better rush out a buy a set!!
But In all honesty they look like a really great set well done Dragon!!

If they want to compete with MB Ltd. I'd guess they'd have to... and I certainly wouldn't complain if they did!!

Can't get enough Marines! I'm in for at least one set!! This is great news --- would also love to see some Army PTO figures as well as some LCM/LCVP crewmen in more "casual" Pacific garb. Most of the crew figures out there look very bundled up and ETO if you ask me.
