Hi guys and girls
I am in the process of finishing my Jagdtiger for a diorama for the Airbourne campaign here at Armorama.
I will show it being reloaded by the crew, while German Paras are providing close security.
I know the ammo for the 128mm PAK was stored in two pieces (shell and projectile) in the tank - at least for some of the ammo stock. Maybe there was also a ready stock with projectile and shell joined together.
To have my tank crew loading the ammo the right way I need to know the following:
Would the ammo likely be loaded in seperate projectile and shell or in one piece?
How was the projectile actually joined to the shell? Was the projectile screwed on the top of the shell? I assume it was joined before firing unlike some indirect artillery pieces.
How would the top of the shell look? Do I need to do any filling on the top of the shell if I leave the projectile of.
Thanks for any help in advance

The ammo wasn't in 2 pcs. It was a single shell.

Chris: the 12.8cm Flak ammo was sgl piece not the KwK 12.8 ammo which was in 2 pieces as evidenced by the racks inside the Jagtiger. My guess is that the projectile was rammed in first and then the cartridge was inserted afterwards.

Does anyone produce a turned set of 12.8 cm shells for the Jagdtiger? I would rather use brass than resin. It's for the Great Wall 12.8 cm K44 L/55 Pak gun. The kit doesn't even come with plastic rounds!!

I think you can use the RB Model 12.8cm PaK 40 L/61 35P10 set, but you might want to wait for confirmation on that.

I think that ammo set is for the Sturer Emil which is a different ammo than what I'm looking for. I just found what I want by Armorscale. It must be a new release because it's specifically for the KWK 44 Pak and so far Great Wall Hobbies has the only gun of this caliber on the market.
