This is a little vignette I did over Xmas using the Master Box 1/35 British Paratroopers WWII Kit No MB3533. The horse was from the spares box and is by Tamiya. The "road" surface looks too flat in the pics but is actually rougher.

Yes, it is Holland. The box with the figures in has the subtitle "Where's that damn bridge?"

That's pretty cool. Nice tight scene, easy to identify. Cool.

No offense, but it is very unlikely that a civilian would carry a weapon in occupied Holland when the Paras landed. I think that the set has sort of unfortunate name and it’s rather meant to represent a scene during the training in England (see the phone booth on the boxart).

My understanding was that this set represents the para's meeting up with a local resistance fighter.

Very nice one!
Since you have built this one during Xmas you could enlist to my Airborne campaign and post some pics of this one in campaign's gallery or forum - it fit's there like a glove

On the contrary I think this set just sports an unfortunate name... First, there is an English style telephone booth on the boxart. Second, if it is a resistance fighter, why does he carry a dead rabbit on his belt? Also the shotgun although possible seems rather unlikely (such a fighter would probably carry a weapon of military origin instead of pre-occupation gamekeeper's weapon that were likely registered and consequently confiscated by Germans). My conclusion is that despite the name, the set in it's fully blown version represent a scene from an exercise in England prior the Market-Garden.

Anyway, I did not - by any means - intend to take this vignette down. It nicely painted and overall well done. My only critisicm would be that the terrain seems to be just a bit too flat. Other than that, a good job! I hope my notes about Holland scenario are taken as comments (which was teh intention) and not as an attack...

Very nice vignette you've made! Nice set up of the figures. The figures are really nicely painted. I only find your base a bit of a downer. It's looks a bit too cheap and your vignette deserves a more beatiful base.

I bought my first Masterbox kit (Skat spieler) lately and i really like the kit. MB has well animated figures with nice themes.

Concerning whether the figures are in Holland or in England doesn't matter. I too think it is a mistake to place the set in Holland, because of the above mentioned arguments. But the scene you've created could be easily have occured in England.

Thanks for all the kind comments guys. Some interesting debate on whether the setting would actually be Holland regarding the "gamekeeper/poacher" figure. I'm open minded on that one. I do think it is an interesting figure set and as has been mentioned Master Box have produced some excellent figures.
