Amen to that!
Dragon is the most un-imaginative and un-creative model company around these days.
They are good at business though. They know how to use un-imaginative and un-creative people like them to make a profit... with minimum effort.
Just a personal opinion. Sorry!

Im hoping DRAGON will hire me so I can help make more Panthers/tigers/t-34's/Shermans. The only difference I would bring is different paint schemes and decals. Outside of that..................mmmmmm.......pretty much the same old rehashed kits that out thier. Who needs new wheeled kits (engineer/mechanic type vehicles)
Once done, I will put a price sticker of 65-70 dollars for my imaginative paint schemes and decals. That alone should bring interest in the market again, AND AND !! I alone would have helped the country recover from the recession.
Thanks DRAGON !!!!!!!!!! SO WHEN CAN I START !?

Oh yay, another Germanized vehicle. I am still waiting for the Germanized Jeep, the Germanized Deuce-and-a-half and the Germanized Dodge WC.

Uh-huh.... When I saw "another" Sherman title, I thought something different would turn up. I am no Shermanoholic, I don't even like or build Shermans, but even I was disappointed when I saw a "Germanized" Sherman... Big deal...
I am starting to miss the gold old days, when the Dragon really roared and did something, they seem to hit a wall these days. They talk the talk... but walk the walk?

I LOVE IT !! Rehashed kits with either axis markings on allied vehicles or vice-versa.
WHY DIDNT I THINK OF IT !! So simple, again, my hopes of making millions have been dashed under some axis vehicles tracks.

On the mentioned kit? They are T49's not T80 or 84's. The T80 and T84 tracks were for different suspensions than the VVSS shown.Anyone notice the New T80 or is it T84 track?
Cheers

You know...don't usually chime in to this type of thread...but had to for a minute. I'll be honest, was scratching my head when I too saw this and was sayiing to myself..."Self, what's going on here???".
Then I started reading the initial threads, and I thought wow...some strong feelings here. But then I remember receiving the Dragon USA ads, advertising the latest "on-line" only kits from CyberHobby, limited production runs, reserve yours today...etc etc etc.
Well, I'm not one to jump on right away and place an order (unless of course I gots to have it!), so usually wait a while and stew on it. There have been several times when I've decided to get something, and it's 'sold out'. My loss for pondering whether I'd like to add another kit to the stash...
My point (slow to get to I'll admit) is that probably companies will continue to come up with kits like this one, cause people continue to buy them! So, if the desire is for mainstream companies to produce some new products, instead of recreating the usual ones with a new decal sheet and box art, stop buying them and continue to lobby for those kits that folks really want...new items!
There...I just had to say it...and I'll not be purchasing one of these (at least not right away!
Smile! It's all good! Cheers -

Dont Get Me WRONG !!!! I love Dragon kits. But this is just another rehashed reboxed warmed over plastic that popped outa the mold last week. All that is really needed for this project would be some pictures for referance and a A4 set of decals. Not much for DML in the area of ingenuity.

I still don’t understand what’s the fuss… DML thinks this kit will sell. That should not be a surprise; it’s all about the profit after all. It’s ultimately up to the modeling community to prove them right or wrong. That’s the rule of thumb on any market (and not only that) - majority sort of dictates – and there is not much one can do about it. So vote with your wallet…
Personally, I don’t see a reason why to jump off my chair just because a kit, that doesn’t necessarily interests me, has appeared on the shelves. There is already waaay more out there I can possibly ever build.
On the other hand, did anyone notice that DML seems to nail this one pretty accurately with rather rare low bustle turret configuration with pistol port and loader’s hatch? See this interesting discussion over at ML:

Jeff,
I think Al meant the newly announced, separate track set # 3863, DS Track.

OK so this is the M4A2 2 in 1 kit hull with a few extras thrown in. New DS Track T49 and the dished wheels. I could of made this tank from my spares and a trip to Formations.........
Come on Dragon how about something fresh like an M24 Chaffee, or a ANY Modern Russian MBT, or a Bradley in 1/35??? I could go on and on..........
I'll be skipping this one unless I need spares for $40.00

I second that too,i`d love to see lots of modern British stuff(trucks and tank transporters).
At the moment the only way to go is with Accurate Armour, but you need a second mortgage to buy their big stuff !!!.

I am no fan of DML but in all fairness you could NOT make this from your spares (unless the are aftermarket and then i can't remember such a turret configuration.
The turret is a very late Low Bustle with both pistol port AND loaders hatch. I am a certified Shermaholic and cannot remember such a configuration ever being released in either mainstream or resin.
Fair critiscism of this would be the short sightedness in not doing five mins research and giving Russian markings. I have little on USSR Shermans but the little I had revealed at least 4 schemes for this rarity plus pics of the one they modelled from two angles.
If DML would take the time to give adequate marking options on the M4A2 and other allied releases they would make them more appealing to the market. The M4A2 kits could easily have had French, USSR, Canadian, UK , Polish - even Australian markings plus the obligatory Captured examples.

It actually has a new turret, it is a very rare late Low bustle with Pistol port, cheek and Loaders hatch. This has never been kitted before.
A nice Shermans spares package
