Well I finally got a new digital camera so i thought I'd post a dio I finished in November last year.
It is Dragon's M4A3 105mm HVSS with stowage from Tamiya and figures from a mixture of Tamiya/Italeri. I still have to paint the base and I think I will redo their faces as well.
It's my first attempt at snow so be brutal
all comments welcome
Enjoy

Hi, this don't look so bad for a first try.
It seems to be to grainy (pics are not very clear).
The wheatering on the Sherman is also perhaps a bit overdone, but has a certain "beast " look.
Good work overall
Cheers
Claude

Nice looking scene there. From what can be seen in the pics, your weathering and whitewash came out well. Might want to add some tracks in the snow behind the tank, or if it's a 'fresh snowfall' look you're going for, may think about adding some snow on the surfaces of the tank itself.
Nicely done. Thanks for sharing! Cheers -

Thanks for the replies guys
Claude: I know what you mean about grainy I still need to play around with my camera and photo settings. I also believe the weathering is exaggerated by the pictures it is much more toned down in person.
Tim: glad you like the tank and I reckon you're right about some tracks in the snow, I'll have to add those when I get back to the modelling desk.

Great job so far. Only one question: Are both the guys sitting there Lts? They look to have the bar on the front of their helmets.

Yup Mike they're both Lieutenants, but if there is something wrong with having them both as LT's, they can be changed to more appropriate insignia.

Well there are two problems I see that can be fixed no problem. At first I thought I saw one bar, but then, after some looking saw the other. They both have Two bars which means they are captains and they both also have chevrons on their sleeves showing them to be privates. Thanks!

looks good Anirudh, the whitewash seems to have turned out well, one thing about the figs if they are LT's they wouldnt have chevrons on the sleeve, these were for enlisted men, only worn by privates and nco's I believe. Goos shot at it though , looks good and I hope to see more stuff from you! cheers

Right then, thanks for the info Mike and Eric. I will rectify that to make one a captain and the other a private.
I'll try to post the updated version as soon as I can.

Thanks Mark. I thought I'd try a winter dio after watching the Band of Brothers episode in Bastogne (ep7). I see you're also building a couple of M4A3's. I would really like to see the pictures of those when you're done.

Anirudh,
Ahh, yes a modeler's dream the TV series, Band of Brothers, an inspiration to all WWII buffs and modelers. I am a slow modeler, but I promise I will post photos of my models. I am returning to this great hobby after a few years of successful Graduate school! I've really missed my Hobby!!!
