Thanks, guys!
I have been working on a larger base than I usually do; a crossroads scene with a M8 Greyhound. The US tank destroyer forces used the Greyhound in their recon units. And I have a set of the Gaso.Line wheels/tires with snowchains for the M8.

Hi UncaBret,

Very nice! The winter wash looks indeed realistic, especially on the barrel. Well done...

I can't wait to see the dio!

Funny thing, tho, when I started I thought I would just use the cases to protect from dust. But I couldn't have a plain base so I thought I would add a little color and texture. And then a little more, and a little more, and a little more,.......

Now it seems I sometimes spend more time (and have more fun) building the base!

Some update pics;

Gaso.Line tires with chains. I had to thin the M8 fenders to get them to fit.

Well, still waiting on the figs, so I built this;

Nice kit, had a little trouble with the AR Star, some of it is hand painted.

I've started one of my classes, the next two start on the 23rd.

What-if M 26 Pershing;

An M26 Pershing of C Co., 66th Armored Regiment, 2nd Armored Division during Operation Red Star, autumn 1945. The 66th's Shermans were replaced with Pershings in Berlin in late June, giving the crews a little over a month to familiarize themselves with their new rides before the push towards Kiev started in late July. The operation was such a success early on that by September the U.S. forces led by Gen. Patton had taken Kiev and turned north-east heading to Moscow.

Tamiya kit, Gaso.Line figures, stowage from Black Dog and Gaso.Line. The ivy is dried duckweed from my fish tank.

Here's the duckweed right after scooping it out of the fish tank.

It will dry out in 2-3 weeks, then it can be used like any other 'leaf' medium.

Some nice tittle roots for tree trunks.

The duckweed has a long 'stem' on the bottom. It can be sifted to seperate into just leaves or used as is.

Duckweed? Looks good on the fence for ivy. Pretty cool.

Who would of thunk it. Learn something new everyday.
BTW, How are classes going? Is it worth it?
