Well, I've been waiting for my Jagd. Pz. IV's wheels to come in for a week now and still no dice. So, to pass the time and keep improving my modeling skills, I am going back and giving my first models a "makeover." First up was the Tamiya StuG IV.... here she is...
Before:
After:

After:
and after shots that do not match up to before shots:
I used my Mr. Hobby Pigments, light brown and dark brown and had at the model. Sprinkling just a bit over a small section at a time, they toned the overall look of the vehicle down. I also went to town on the Schurzen also. Finally, I used a green scrub pad and added some dark grey scratches to the dark yellow basecoat and dark yellow scratches to the dark green camo pattern. Enjoy, and as always please let me know what you think.
P.S. After seeing the first few pictures and noticing Scratchmod's destroyed L48, the hole in the concrete infront of the driver is large enough to penetrate the whole tank, therefore I used some white putty to close it up, as seen in the last picture.

Looks better than before. I think it would be easy to make something better with all those flate plates like the Stug IV. I was thinking of redoing my PzJgr I, but I'm still holding back. Not sure if I want to mess up my first one yet...
It looks really good!
Richard
P.S. I don't know if it would work better, but some of the pics I noticed a computer. Maybe you should test different light sources. It almost seems the after pics are fuzzier than the before pics. Whether it might be the computer, I'm not sure...
