Anyone know of a source for 1/35 scale black letters and numbers for making bumper numbers? I want to paint and mark some vehicles differently than what comes in the box.

I'm planning to replicate some vehicles belonging to 1/72 Armor, 2ID and 2/9 Infantry, 2ID. Both of their motor pools are just down the street from my office, so I can readily get first-hand reference pix.

Terry,
Print your own using clear decal paper from Micromark. Use PowerPoint to set up your numbers, print your test shots on regular paper to get the sizing and font type correct then run the decal paper through the printer. If you are using Uncle Sam's supplies, get the stuff for laser printers. If you have your own setup with an inkjet, get the ink jet paper but you will need to seal the decals befor you use them...

If you do not want to go there, Georg Eyerman of Decalomaniacs will print whatever bumper numbers you want for a small fee via this E-Bay store...

Duece Tank!!!

Some of the Echelon decal sheets have plenty of generic letters and number that you can use. Archer also makes some generic letters and numbers (check out the numbers here ) and other generic markings ( here ). Verlinden also has a sheet of dry transfer generic numbers and codes (set #162, I believe).

I have all of the above sets, and the Echelon ones are the best, in my opinion, but all are pretty good and have their uses. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the tips, guys! I've got an inkjet at home and a couple os laser jets here at the office, so printing my own is an option - one that I hadn't considered, either.

I'll also take a look at the number and letter decal sets available. The combat vehicles here are painted in plain old NATO 3-color camo, so that's no owrry. I'm just concerned about getting the bumper numbers right.

I need to find a decent hobby shop here in Korea so I can buy some of the stuff that I can't get shipped here through the mail.
