I like that.... It's the first Irish Army vehicl I've seen here. Your figures are very well done also.
Are you going to enter this in IMSS?

Cheers,
Sean

Hi Everyone

We'll try this again!

I just finished this model last night.

Its a 1/35th Scale Panhard AML-20 (20mm cannon) in service with the Irish Defence Forces and was used in the UN Peace Enforcement Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) up until that mission ended in mid 2008.

I used Azimut Productions AML-60 as a base and began heavilly modifing it to represent an AML-20. This involved converting the entire rear end as Irish Panhard were converted from the old petrol engine to a more powerful diesel engine by Cavalry Workshops in 1991. The turret too had to be extensivly scratchbuilt as the real turrets were built by a South African company who were contracted to install a new Fire Directing System (FDS).
At this time the AML-20 was also fitted with a G12 20mm Cannon, the weopon already in use with the South African Defence Forces Reumech OMC Ratel 20 (6 x 6) infantry fighting vehicle and is a locally made version of the French Giat Industries dual feed 20 mm M693 (F2) cannon.

All comments good or bad are welcome, thanks for looking
