Is there some problems with the gallery? I keep getting this message
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 590102 bytes) in /home/kitmaker/gallery/showgallery.php on line 1022

Frank there is an issue with the gallery that Jim S is trying to correct, everyone is getting this message and cannot upload pictures at this time and in some cases even view them. It is hoped it will be resolved soon.

I'm also getting the same message. James' suggestion works:

, but we'll all have to be patient until its fixed.

It seems that it is OK now. I've checked few big galleries today and everything was working as it should be. I've seen few brand new additions so it seems that uploading works as well.

I think things are on the mend for uploading photos. Sometimes you must login again, after you've reached the photo gallery home (even though you're logged-in to the Armorama site).

The specific error Ted ran into was from a category pulldown at the bottom of the page (where it said "Jump to: pick a category"). We literally have so many public categories that this is causing the server to max out on memory trying to build it. So... I have disabled this feature and that is why those sections are all accessable now.

However we still have a file uploading issue of a similar nature that I haven't been able to fix fully yet. It's hit and miss and based on the amount of people/overhead on the server at the time you try to do the upload. If you run into any memory errors when uploading please try fewer images or smaller (resized) images instead of monster raw camera images.

Cheers,
Jim

Here is the error message I get, not the same that Frank got.

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 311296 bytes) in /home/kitmaker/gallery/languages/english.php on line 346

I have it each and every time I try to upload pictures to my galleries.

Apparently it is still an issue as I got the same message this morning while trying to upload some pics and I know a couple of other folks who had the same problem. I guess we have to wait for things to get fixed. Patience young Jedi... "Q"

This is an ongoing issue for which Jim S is trying to find a long term solution, it boils down to us having just way too many pictures in there and more being added daily.
