I finally did it...I finished a model!
I love building these things, but painting and finishing them...well, since I am not very good at it, i tended to skip this little detail
But after some very good advise from people here, i decided to finish a model no matter the result....and here is the result: Tamiya's jeep built straight OOTB.
It didn't quite turn out the way I wanted, but I more or less treated this as an exercise, still I am happy with the result, simply be course this is the first model i actually have finished in 3 or 4 years!
I have to practice a lot more, but i discovered something...painting is fun!
Feel free to criticize...I need the feedback...good or bad and sorry for the quality of the pictures, I need a better cam.
To see my pics, click "photos" in the corner..for some unknown reason, i can't upload pics directly.

Hey Brian that looks really good, I really like the ration box in the back. One thing, and this is more artistic liscence than anything, is perhaps try spraying the inside of the wheel wells and under the fenders with some buff or dark tan for dust. It might just help create a sense of depth and break up the mono-tone olive drab. Looks good, now get crakin' on the next!

It looks very good for "your first in years". It looks clean, but weathering will come in steps on later models. Never think you shouldn't paint hem because you aren't good in it. You'll learn and 95% of your models will be better then the one finished before.

Looks great. Love those jeeps!
Its a real gem of a kit isn't it? Building one myself right now and just loving how it goes together.

Hi
I think it looks very good. Nice change to see a clean build rather than the "weathered" majority we see mostly these days.
Nothing wrong with your painting and finishing from what I can see.

Nicely done, especially for your first build. Now I maybe wrong, but shouldn't the rifle scabboard be mounted the other way? What mean is if you raised the wind shield as it is now, you would be able to remove the M1.

Nicely done Brian, looks good! Instrument panel and dashboard turned out fantastic, good details there. Overall well done with the build and slightly worn look. Keep at it!

Nice job Brian, now your hooked on painting like the rest of us. I remember when I bought my first air compressor and sprayed for the first time, that was it for me. Looking foward to seeing some more completed models from you.

Thanks guys!!
Your comments mean a lot to me!
As some of you said, I am starting to enjoy the painting process
A kit does look better with a lick of paint on it
Weathering is something I need to work on...one can only hope to become as good as you guys one day!
The next few kits are going to be sort of experiments, I may make a hash of it, but as you said it's the only way to learn.
Next kit is Dragon's Panther G and I will of course post some pictures
