Hi Guys,

All this talk of Churchills got me to finally add a commander, some antenna, move some stowage and hopefully get this one finished off.
Vehicle representa an AVRE Mk IV form 1st Assault Brigade, 5th Assault Regiment Royal Engineers, 17th Armoured Dviision, Nan Red Beach, 6th June 1944.

Great stuff Al
I like the chalk shipping marks on the front fender, give a definate sence of time and place.
Whose kit is this, a conversion or a full resin?

Cheers

Hi James and Paul,

Thanks for the feedback guys.

This one was based on the old Tamiya Churchill Mk VII kit. I used the Resicast conversion set for the AVRE, their deep wading set and the Eduard PE set, which is worth the money for the detail. The correct exhausts and spare boggies are thanks to Gordon at Cromwell Models. Figure is the basic Tamiya Tank commander with some new arms to locate him deeper in the turret and a little uniform alteration to show DB not coveralls.

Hey Al,
Thanks for the heads up on this one.
I would have missed it otherwise.
Excellent build !!
Did have one pic of it, sans commander, in my photo file.
I'll add these to my file but more would be very welcome, hint, hint !!!!
Cheers

Hi John,

Thanks for the input, though yu might like this one. PM sent. e the other.

Hi Lyndon,

Thanks for the feedback, appreciate you taking the time to post. At the moment I'm working at finishing the Resicast Vickers MG Carrier conversion. Not sure what's up next a lot of choice around, but I have the T16 and Humber Box to build so probably one or the other, but maybe a Sherman lol, lol as I didn't build any last year and they are stacking up.

Cheers guys

Hi Jerry,

Thanks, yes the new AFV kit looks great, looking forward to it and some other versions too I hope. Not sure when it's due for release.

The new Resicast cast turret looks pretty cool too and will make a great Mk IV, I especially like the basic interior as that saves a lot of scratch work.

Cheers

Al
