Yep, I just had to re-post this idea. The deal was that a drunken German officer tries to pick up a local girl in his dirty muddy Scwimmwagen.

1. Where to find a civilian french woman in 1:35?
2. How to scratchbuild wine bottles?
3. Has anyone tried to make hair other that paint it?

Toni,
I love those small vehicle dios. Sounds like a good premise for one too. A fire hydrant might make a nice added detail too.

For the civilian figure, try http://www.verlinden-productions.com . I know they have a lot of figures in 1:35. You might also try http://www.modelmecca.com , though my connection is slow today so I don't know if it's the right link. Hope this helps.

Sounds good..also thought about the scene happening right after rain, so the road would be partly wet and I could display some water streaming along the roadside. It would also give me a chance to dig out my Badger 150 and try some weathering effects, like dried/wet mud over dry dusty surface.....hmmmm...
At least the vehicle should look so crappy that no woman ever get in that! I also had the greatest help with the title from Maxpain, but lost it with this breakdown
Maybe max would put it here again...
It was something like "Hallo! Wie wär'es einen Spritztour?"

LOL

Hmm, the Modelmecca link dosen't seem to work. I typed in the address from their ad in FSM. I was just looking for a few figures and I found a 'German Schwimmwagen driver , wearing coat' over at MissionModels . It looks like a nice figure. It is under the 'Artison Mori' category in the upper lefthand part of the page. Scroll down halfway and you'll see it. Item #MG007, it's $18.50 though it looks like a nice figure. You maybe have to chop off and reposition his head (AH! The horror! ) to have him looking off to the side.

Toni,
Ahh....rain. Well then you can really make it funny. What's funnier than a drunk soldier trying to pick up a woman in a topless vehicle when it's either raining a bit or threatening more rain?

You should give the woman an umbrella. That will add a nice effect. Raining or no.

The title could be: "Wanna go topless?" hehe

Some Academy kits contain bottles molded in clear plastic. I have a few I could send you if you like. No charge, just post a pic of your diorama when it's done.

There's a french company called mk35 that produces some great civilian figures. They are molded in a claen tan resin.
I'm just starting one for my appartment dio.
I don't know how easy these figures are to find for you.

Heya Envar..

Here comes my title suggestion again..

"He Fräulein, wie wär's mit einer Spritztour" just in case you wanted to use it...
I had a look through the Verlinden catalogue...

What do you think of this chick bending over the vehicle ??

LOL
I saw that Verlinden figure too.
Max, with your kindest approval, I will most definitely use that line as title!
Btw, I found those Mk35 figs with google and "mk35 editions" search.
There was one veeerryy nice woman fig!

Jim, I´m having fun figuring out the umbrella...great idea! It will most probably be red to add some contrast to the muddy overlook
Can´t wait to get out from work and pick up that cute Schwimmie!

Hello Toni

I got the Schwimmwagen myself meanwhile and I was wondering if you have some good reference pics. Also - do you plan to super-detail the vehicle ? Let me know how you go with building it please, I might need some advice here and there

My idea at the moment is to show it at the begin of the war in Holland - that Verlinden broken windmill set came to my mind...

:-)

Hello Max!
I haven´t got into Scwimm quite yet, but I sure found some great ref pics! It seems there are some freaky people out there, building up their Schwimmmies even today!

http://storm.webvis.net/schwimmwagen.html

or several others you can find typing "schwimmwagen" in google.....pretty crazy stuff in there...I also found excellent pics of a half-scratchbuilt Schwimmie but I have the link in my ofice cpu, I´ll get back with that monday morning
I´m thinking about a sand yellow - green - dark brown -camo pattern for my baby. Just want to try out the airbrush again I guess
