Hi guys,
I need some info on Italeri's Jeep Ambulance (nr 326 I believe).
What is it like?
How does the additional equipment look (like the stretchers and such).
Is it worth getting or is it better to do it all by myself?
Maybe anyone has any pictures of it, so I can see for myself??
Thans for any information!!

The basic jeep and the added framework for the stretchers is very good. The stretchers themselves are so-so. Their biggest problem is that they are square and don't sag like fabric does. The other gear like knapsacks and the like are very good as well. I think it is worth it. Maybe redoing the stretchers woud make them look better, but thats about all it needs.

Ditto. The Italeri Jeep has always been well regarded - certainly it was better than the original (and now long discontinued) Tamiya piece. Verlinden do make a "MASH Conversion" set for the Italeri Jeep #1283. I have not seen the VP set in person so don't know how much of an improvement it is but you might consider using bits or all of it. Accurate Armor make a set of resin stretchers #83

Sorry. I have plans for mine. The Italeri kit I believe is currently OOP but does get re-issued from time to time or might be found collecting dust on a local LHS shelf. Or you can use the Verlinden conversion on either the Tamiya or Italeri standard Jeep.

The one other thing i suggest replacing is the wheels. The ones in the newer taymia kit are much better looking than the italieri ones. If you have a taymia kit (new) in the stash, steal the wheels and get a set of snow-chained ones from Legends (jeep detail set..exclent), or Tank Workshop. After you replace the wheels, the Italeri kit looks just as good as the new taymia kit.
I actully found a picture of the jeep that italeri patterend thier ambulance jeep from...i think it was a british unit. Keep in mind that ambulance jeeps were field conversions, so varied quite a bit!
When i built mine, I made new streachers from a old millitary undershirt and round plastic rod. Teabags would work nice as well to get a rough canvas look.
