I have seen a few photos of TD crews in Parsons jackets as well as M1943 jackets and I know that supplies did not always keep up, but was the use of the Parsons jacket very wide-spread by TD and tank crews?

Can not say I have seen or have any photo's of TD or Tank crews wearing the M41 Field Jacket ( Parsons ). But it's possible there were some who did wear it, especially if you have photographic evidence

The M1943 OD Field Uniform was standard issue to all U.S. Army Troops ( Armored, Infantry & Airborne ) when it was finally put into service ( Late Aug - Sept. 1944 ) after trial's in Italy 1943

The armor crews, ( in some cases infanrty ) most often wore The Winter Combat Jacket ( Tankers Jacket ) as seen below. During colder weather the armored crews would also wear the M1943 jacket or Long Wool Melton Overcoat over their Tankers jacket

Here'a a photo of 1st Infantry Div ( Big Red One ) troops wearing both M1941 field jackets and Tanker Jackets, boarding their vessels for the invasion of Normandy 1944.

Hope this helps, cheers,

Since every US soldier in the ETO was anxious to "acquire" the Winter Tanker Jacket perhaps they left their Parson's Jackets in exchange for the ones they "Liberated
