I know what it's meant to be as I've been building one on and off for about 18 months. #:-)
Trouble is it ain't meant to be in that colour or with that crew.
It's a Panther command tank - Ausf D with a Pz IV ausf H or J turret mounting a dummy gun.
IIRC it was attached to Schweres Abteilung 508, and started life as an MBT, got damaged and was rebuilt as a Bergepanther before ending up as a command tank .
Best as I can see with the one black and white photo I've got it was overall sand with irregular green blotches.
Scott is right about the Panther IV

From what I have read about this tank is that it is a one of a kind ...it is an early bergepanther ,but they added a panzerIV turret to give the recovery teams a bit of firepower..As it was said before the turret was fixed in place and couldn't travers. The one thing I don' t agree on is the unit ..I have it with the 653rd along with other strange vehicles that they used..(t34 with quad flak guns) I may be wrong about that but .....ehhh?

Hmmm, so what did I learn today
1) This thing really did exist
2) Juding by the link drawing, it was a pretty cool looking tank
3) You can learn something while trying to be a wiseguy (just a little too smart for my own good)
