Hi guys,
I decided to build this one before I will start my 1/16 King Tiger from Trumpeter. This should bring some experience required for my next hard task, mainly the finishing techniques. The kubelwagen can be very good one used for trying and practice. More pictures and details again here:
KubelwagenThanks for looking.
All parts are cut off the sprues, cleaned up and mostly glued togethet. I am keeping them in small completed parts, which will be painted and then put together to make whole thing, this way seems to me much easier than to finish the building and paint it after that. In my way is not needed much masking and I do not mess already painted parts with very different color. I will add more details, especially some wires and hoses to the engine and some else. Have found a lot pictures of real vehicles, which can guide me well this time.
Any comments very welcome

The one thing this build won't educate you on is filling knockout marks.

Thanks, Lyndon,
probably I will use two-tone camo from the front of the box, which my son is pushing me to do, but the three-colored camo is nice too, however this looks to be done easier. Hard to decide. Nice painting I have seen here too

Thanks for you comments, guys.
To Herbert, that is right, nothing to fill on this kit so far, but I have already good experience from older Trumpeter´s kits, especially on Mörser Karl and its railway transporter, there is a lot work with putty. By the way, I have tried first Mr White Putty from Mr. Hobby and it is the best I ever used.
So far I have finished my work witk surfacer and I am going to do some preshading and painting on the engine. I also ordered some wires I was missing in my stock, and I will add some details according to pictures of this vegicle, which I found on internet. Some pictures are coming soon.

Some progress made at last, I started painting after some preshading, using technique seen on Mig production DVD volume 2, that makes really nice shadows, so I hope not to mess it later. Here are some pictures.

Today I did some work on engine and painted the most in dark yellow. Tomorrow I´ll paint the seats and lighter shades, will glue together everything I can, and finally green camo I hope to start on Tuesday.

Thanks for looking.

The green is on. The camo went somehow different than was my idea, but it is still all right. I am going to do little fading, and then washes after varnish coat and application of decals.

Looking very good, very clean too.
After having fondled all the 1/16 Tiger-B sprues and hull parts and such, what is the size of this Kubel. I might add it to something I might do with the Tiger-B, to dress up the scene. Not too much 1/16 vehicles around

Thank you for your comments, guys. I have 0,3, 0,25 and 0,2mm nozzles in my airbrush, I tried all of them and different paint mixtures, lot of tries with pressure, and finally I used 0,2mm nozzle, very low pressure and paint thinned with lacquer thinner 1:4, but there was still big paint scattering, however this combination became the best one. Probably I need more practice on this. There is a picture of finished interior, and there is more pictures in my log here:

Very, very nice detail! Amazing crispness to the parts. I would like to try a larger scale sometime!

Wow that looks terrific. I saw this kit at the LHS and it's a big booger (compared to it's 1/35th cousin)

Thank you for compliment, chicane, the kubel was great experience, at least I already know now, what I could have done another way, painting and weathering thought, so I think my next kit will be a bit better finished.
