Hi all...I want build an Humvee....yeah I've tons of photos but I wish to know some info from you guys that I can't get by me.
1)Enlarged front radiator that is a specif thing on m1114 and following
models..can be mounted on all Humvee type?!I say this cause I've
photos of iraqi humvee with this radiator but on the body of a standard
Humvee,not m1114.
2)Hard kit(coming out with pro art model) can be mounted on m1114?!Are
there versions that are designed for this application?!
3)have you any photos of hard kit mounted on m1114....or have you
photos of hard kit monuted on humvee with enlarged radiator?!
4)In your opinion...if I mix the things I'll do the wrong thing?!or you believe
that all combinations on the humvee is possible?!
Sorry for stupid questions but apart photos it's difficult for me to get an accurate knowledge of the model...I often lost myself in the numerous variants and field modifications.Hope someone can help me.

Yes, the extended radiator is used on M1114, M1151, and other Armored HMMWVs. It is not used on standard M998 and other unarmored variants.

The HARD kit is not used on Armored HMMWVs. It is applied to unarmored versions to make them more survivable. The HARD kit is mainly the armor package. The A/C unit is also part of it, but either can be used separately.

Yes, if you mix the types up, it will be wrong.

The extended radiator is a feature of the M1113 expanded capacity vehicle Humvee, which I believe is the basis for the other armoured Humvee's-M1114 and M1151. What you've probably seen is an ECV Humvee, that to the untrained eye could look like a normal Humvee with extended radiator. Theres some pics in Concords Humvee in Iraq of some special ops ECV's, these have the doors and roof removed but still have an armoured body and various other armor features.
As Gino has said the Hard kit is only suitable on standard un-armored Humvee's. M1114's have these armored features like ballistic windshield, armored doors etc built in as well as air con.

Ive seen the HARD in model form but not in any photos. Does anyone have any photos? When was it introduced, because I thought all unarmored humvees had either been returned stateside or confined to FOB duty.

The HARD kit was an early attempt to get armor on vehicles quickly. It was in use from '04 until about '05. It was replaced by M1114s. There are a few running around teh FOBs still, but not many. Sorry, I don't have any pics of them.
