Finished - Hobbyboss M4 tractor and captured 88mm flak. A photo exists of just this combination, but this is my own take on it.
Here is the original:

Thanks for the responses guys!
The M4 didn't present any build problems. The rear tarp is lead foil and not in the kit. My only problem with it was partly of my own making - the white spirit in the dark wash attacked the mounts of the suspension units within seconds and they had to be reattached with superglue.
The gun started as dark yellow with a whitewash winter cammo, but the first wash just made it look brown. A drybrush in the original colour and a black wash gave the dirty look it has now - and I actually quite like!

Great stuff and very well done. The contrast in colors between the OD HST and whitewash 88 really looks sharp.
Just this very morning I was looking for a new project, found that picture, and considered doing the exact same thing.

The M4 in the original pic is the 155mm version, not the 3"/90mm that I used, so there is scope for doing it properly!
I did try to make the ploughed field by using a pallet knife held at an angle, but the furrows just collapsed again. There's all the junk laying all over the gun as well - I don't have a spares box to source that kind of thing from anymore after taking a break from the hobby.
It would be interesting to seesomebody elses take on the subject.

The weathering on the flak 88 looks great. Any close-ups of it?

Your own take on it is better than the photo. Well done.

Maybe when I can sort out some better lighting and can use my macro lens! Even daylight here at the moment ain't that great!
Thanks again for all the comments. It's my first dio base for a couple of years so I'm reasonably pleased!

Very nicely done. This gun was used by Allied forces, as was the SdKfz. 7 that towed it.

Very well done. I do strictly US vehicles but this could give me an excuse to build a German 88.
I love it. The snow effect is great.

Thanks again for the kind comments.
Rudy - The M4 is the Hobbyboss kit for the 90mm/3" version. A great little kit except for the bogie/hull joint which is a bit on the fragile side.
The 88mm is the Dragon 3inOne kit
The snow is baking soda over white glue. There are three 'shell holes' where I tried to show ice by putting gloss varnish over the baking soda but it doesn't show that well in the photos.

It certainly looks good to me Dave.
I'd be very happy to display it if it was mine.
