While looking through many of the great dioramas and vignettes on kitmaker, I was wondering how the artists achieve such a...uniform...I guess, look to their bases. Even when there are different colors and such of vegetation, they seem to blend nicely together. While thinking about it, it occurred to me that perhaps one could use a light airbrush to sort of tie all the colors together.
Just wondering if anybody uses a similar technique or not. I thought I had heard of it being done, but wasn't sure.

I usually over spray all ground work with a diluted Tamiya buff. Several light coats then sit back and wait 20 minutes or so, look at it again to see if I need to spray areas or the whole thing again. The trick is to 'even it out' just enough without overdoing it.
