Yes, but they would have most probably have been the remanufactured ones by then. (Hull and turret aplique armor) Also Baldwin made dv M4 hulls up to the end of production, but with aplique armor.

Hi Jeff,
Yes I believe the M4 DV was still around and if you look at the discussion on ML I had, it would appear that the British had them too.

US Army Direct Vision M4 tanks do turn up in photos from Normandy, but all I have seen had applique armor panels welded over the vision ports and applique applied on the right front turret face and on the sponson ammo box locations. I haven't seen any DV M4A1's in Normandy photos, though. However, Operation Dragoon (the August, 1944, invasion of the south of France) drew its forces from Italy, and many 1942 production Shermans are found in those units.

There were a few M4A2 DVs in the French 2e DB (Armored Division) and for some reason, the upgrade program hurriedly done while in UK did not include plates over the front hoods - just on the hull sides and turret right front.
The DB landed from 31 July on Utah Beach and fought beginning 10 August with Patton's Army to the south of the Falaise Pocket.

Many M4A2 DV's, M4A4 DV's and M4 DV's served with the Brits in Normandy in 27 & 8 AB (A2 DV) ; GAD & 11AD (M4A4 DV) and 33 AB (M4 DV). Most of the brit ones do not have the applique over the DV slots although some of the M4 DV's of 33 AB did.
