I am planning a dio that involves snow, I'm going to use microbaloons for the snow but need to know what to use to glue it down while still looking like snow when finished. Do I have to use a top coat to secure it?

Thanks

Hi Chris, two other things that give excellent results and will not yellow over time are "DAP fast and final" spackling paste and it is available at Home depot, Lowes, and other home improvement centers in the paint section. It is extremely lightweight, literally as white as snow so you dont need to paint it and you can texture it with a paint brush by stippling it to make it look more fluffy or textured like when it gets kicked up. You just apply it in place of ; or over your existing ground work. I t can also be painted if needed. The second thing is artificial sugar, like sweet and low or similar. It is very fine in texture so looks correct in scale. Just use some thinned elmers glue over your ground work and sprinkle it, while its drying you can sprinkle more to give it texture. It also will not yellow or discolor, and dont worry, not even bugs will eat it so you dont have to worry about unwanted critters invading for a snack. Good luck, Jim Rosado

Microballons have been used in radio control airplane building for years.
As a r/c flyer I must warn that inhaleing Microballons can cause lung cancer so wear a mask
its nasty stuff!
