Well I am finishing up on my assembly of the M4A3E8 Thunderbolt by dragon and I am looking for my next kit. I would really like to put together a jumbo and i know that the tamiya kit is quite lacking. so my question is this, is the current tank workshop set accurate? i had read a little blurb saying the turret was not the correct size I dont remember the date on the conversation so i was wondering if this was still the case. also is the hull from the tamiya kit a real mess in regards to accuracy? thanks for the info

Gary's right, Blast is the way to go. I did a TWS version several years ago and it looks OK; better than the Tamiya but not as well done as the more recent Blast kit. Steve Zaloga builds one in his Opsrey book on modeling 76mm Shermans; he even shows you how to set up a Tasca suspension to get that sagging front suspension unit so typical of the 42-ton Jumbo. Recommended.

Hi guys
Any thoughts on the Azimut conversion:
http://www.phpshopxml.com/azimut.shop/CID/9ab89c5c74ae45cadde8fd21f755ee14/function/itemPageDisplay/shopItemCode/AZI35185
I picked one up from ebay a few years back, seems OK but no one talks about it - which doesn't sound too promising

I've got the Tankworkshop 1/2 kit, (turret, metal barrel, solid wheels & bits)
It looks ok to me, but wheels were poorly cast.

A generic M4A3 set would be fine. Eduard's would probably be good. However, if you can find an old On-the-Mark set, that would be your best bet IMO.

Well one of the last pieces for my jumbo project has been ordered, i picked up the eduard PE kit. I need to order up a 75mm barrel for it. but i might get going on my panther project before i start this one since i really want to hone in my painting skills before i start my jumbo. i'm ordering up some mig pigments to get some better weathering, my thunderbolt actually turned out looking pretty good, but i'm just not quite there yet.

Unfortunately i just found my basis for the project, Cobra King, has the solid wheels not the hollow wheels that most jumbo's have. i'll have to put the sherman on the backburner until i get the suspension or wheels. i guess the tiger will be my next project.
