Matt,
please consider the following :
Get a shampoo bottle, you know the one with the top you can turn off. In the top of the bottle has got to be a little hole (3 - 5 mm). Clean the bottle and let it dry completely. New fill the bottle with the static grass.
Nex you make a mixture of white glue and water (75 : 25 mixture). Add the mixture of glue and water to your dio base. Don't be shy with the mixture... Since it dries transparent, you wont see the remains.
When the mixture is still wet, you "spray" on the static grass by butting the bottle upside down and squeezing it gently. This way the static grass is "rocketed" into the glue.
When you are done, turn the dio base upside down and tap off excess grass. You'll notice, that if you tap long enough, the grass tends to "hang down" from the base (the mixture is not to be allowed to be too thin, otherwise it drips off).
When you are satisfied set the base to rest until the glue has fully dried. After the glue has dried, you can redo the process until the grass is thick enough to your satisfaction.
Hope this helped a bit. Good luck !

hey thnx guys, but the thing is, well basicly my dio is already finished, i used flock, and i wanted to still include long grass, coz if i didnt include flock you would still see the plaster base underneath, but eagle i promise my next dio i will try that, and phantom your method is also taken into consideration. but do you have any alternative ideas to applying static grass to a dio thats already finished and has green flock on it, thnx alot

Eagle, green flock is sorta spngy, but it is very very fine , and it is used to look like grass of all scales, you can get different kinds of flock for different types of grasses and landscapes and it is used in all scales, but i am not so sure whether you have used it , the pic does not give me enuoph detail, sorry

if your dio is already covered in flock, just apply the white glue over the top and blow the static grass into it. i did exactly the same thing to cover the snow on a winter dio that went wrong, so it would work.

When I had the same problem with static grass my friend suggested lightly scubbing the area with a paintbrush, a large one like for painting walls. It did cause most of the grass to stand more naturally.

What I usually do when I have sprinkled Static grass on my dio I usually drybrush my grass with different tones of greens and browns..... This is also to give more coloration to the grass and it makes it standup too

great brit thnx for the tips, but i have already considered that, but thought , when you sprinkle white glue on it will dry ofcourse but it will be glossy even though you would have staic grass on it you would still be able to see the glossy effects of the white glue
but thnx anyway
brandydoguk, your idea sounds interesting but i cant understand jut what you mean, could you please describe what exactly you do and how you do it
and faust my grass is already different colours but i dont see how by painting them will get them to stick up like normal grass
thnx anyway

I don't use glue, but paint (large volume can of green acrylic for interior decorating lasts you a lifetime of dioramas, rather than expensive Tamiya or other modeling types.)
Ädd grass while paint is wet. Instead of holding diorama upside down, try a statically charged comb or plastic ruler. Brush it up on a woollen pullover or on freshly showered hair, then hold it over the "static" grass. That's why static grass is "static" grass !
