Are there any after market products to convert a standard (M4?) Sherman into a DD Tank? If not, any reference material with good enough pictures to be able to scratch build the "skirt", propellers, etc.

Resicast also did Sherman V DD with raised screens, one with lowered screen and one with the screen removed.
There exists an I-Corps attempt. To say it is utter trash demeans trash.

Hey Illini,
The M4A1's are at the top left of page #3 of their Full Kits page, kits #35166 & 35167:
http://www.resicast.com/pages/full_kits_page_3pag.html
You probably missed as it doesn't have the canvas screen raised.
The kit appears to still be still available but at 140 Euros, YIKES, now that's real sticker shock !!!!
I couldn't find the M4A4's that Roy mentioned, must be OOP.
Cheers

Thanks, questions off to resicast. If I get one of these, I'll raise a mighty pint in your honor (or two).
I just sold the Accurate Arnour 1/35 LCT to a modeller who's planning to do a diorama (a BIG one) of D-Day at Utah beach with an LCT with load approaching the beach. These tanks were the primary load of the first wave. Unfortunately they made it ashore at the wrong place and too late, but at least they made it. I guess the LCT drivers took them in way further than they were supposed to - putting themselves in harms way. Other assaults lost most of the amphibiuos tanks, including these. Very sad.
My plan is to build at least one tank for this guy for his display - if he'll use it , he's a real rivit counter. He plans to display this at the nationals 2010, keep an eye out.

I Spoke to Monsieur Resicast at the Telford Nov '07 show, so my recollection is a year & a quarter out of date.
My recollection was that he had updated both the UK & US versions without the screens, &
that there is an 'unfrocked' (stripped) version, don't remember if UK/US one.
The version with the lowered screen has been retired (as of Nov '07), but he has made one-off's from the old moulds for a Magazine WIP build.
I DON't know if he was considering re-mastering the DD lowered screen or the Raised Screen one, but was considering doing a 'conversion kit' for the Sherman BARV.
If you can consider 1/76th, Millicast have dozens of D-Day related Vehicles, inc LCT's etc...

I have sent two e-mails to Resicast, and heard nothing. Is there a retailer that carries their stuff. They don't have on-line ordering on their site.

Hi Illini,
Try R&J Enterprises (http://www.rjproducts.com/). Look under the link "Product Lines" and scroll down to "Resicast". They are listing three of the DD kits (full kits, not conversions). R&J are located in Washington state.
Hope this helps...
