In the early part of the war, they were pulled by M900 Sereis 5-tons too.

The prime mover for an M198 is a 5-ton or larger vehicle, so you won't see an M1078 pulling one. The M1078 is only rated at 2 1/2 tons.

Hi Gino,

On the subject of M198s... Trumpeter labeled their kit as an "Early" version (IIRC)... is there a later version??? Please tell us if there are real differences between the two...

Thanks!

I don't know all the changes. 18Bravo (I think) posted a link in the M198 Review thread that list them. Most were minor; like new tires, various gussets added for strength, better positioning of recuprator and air pressure guages, etc.

Thanks, I guess one can't really make a OIF version without some personal conversion effort then...

Cheers,

Lawrence
