Can anyone recommend a base kit(s) and after-market bits to be able to build a Pirhana III like this Irish Army one: http://www.62cavalry.com/html/new_mowags.html
preferably with little scratch building as possible
Cheers,
Sean

Hi Sean
Check out my kitmaker profile and you will see the finished goods
or click here http://www.warwheels.net/ModelMOWAGPiranha3Kinsella.html
I recomend either Trumpeter or AFV club strykers, but be prepared for some hard work.
Probably the easiest to tackle first would be the Mowag Piranha III with RWS, you will need some good photos, a ruler, pen, sand paper, a good craft knife, some plastic sheets (hannants.co.uk) and alot of time and patients!
Let me know if you need more info on the subject
I'm considering starting another 1/35 with RWS, I've just completed a few 1/72 scale kits, they'll prob be on ebay somewhere over the next month or so wink wink

Very nice Roy. Will you have anything in IMSS this May?
Access to photos won't be a problem. I've actually been in one a couple of times (but never on the move) and got to play with the controls for the RWS down at the Vintage Military Vehicle show in the Curragh last summer. It's my scratch building skills that would be the problem.....
Cheers,
Sean

Hi Sean
I might try get to the IMSS this year but I have so much on that I'm not likely to enter anything this time round..
I'm working on a few different "Irish" themes at the moment so stay tuned for updates
,,BTW I saw the newer MOWAG Piranha's (RWS H&K Grenade MG and 30mm Cannon) on fire and manouver last year, very very impressive (oops im entering the relm of the DF's OPSEC here so I'd best close shop on that subject before "toys" are thrown from the preverbial pram! .. wink wink)

You can try using the AFV Club's RWS kit to add on... A bit of scratching will do the trick.
