Think you have done a masterful job on both quilted uniforms. I've build the other figure from the set, the one with the rifle over his shoulder.I wasn't happy with the finale result. Dont want to take anthing from you build, but i think the one trooper could do with a very light grey wash on his bright white hood. Apart from that A1. How did you get the finish on the quilted uniforms, when I trided I got a very flat finish and didn't like it one bit. Thanks for posting , maybe with your help I can try and make a start on the NCO, the one looking around with the MG 40( IMOI a really great figure). Thanks Geraint

The step that I took was: First paint the figures. I then applied a coat of future which allowed for the application of a burnt amber wash that stuck to the crevices of the uniform to give it the worn look. The figure painted in grey got a basic black wash. For the wash, i used tubed oil paint. Hope this helps.

Thanks Herrman, I think Future was the missind link,. When i put a wash on the figure I done, It sort of stuck to the raised parts of the quilted uniform and didn't flow to well into the crease's, thanks for the tip hopefully I can get it right on the NCO. Cheers Geraint I also think they look better with there helmets. Thanks again

This kit has been reviewed here. The pictures there were a big help in figuring out the figures and their poses.

I painted the rifle with a wood-brown color. I later applied Future. Once it dried, I applied a bit of burnt amber oil wash on the rifle stock and while it was still wet I gently brushed some of the walsh away with a brush that had turpintine (passing it horizontally..leaving a dark brown streak resembling wood grain.

Hermann,
Those figures are looking really good I like the way you have done the uniforms, like them!
