Had some time off today to take some pictures of a few M1's I finished (or almost finished) in the last few months, and thought I would share them on the boards. Please don't bug me about all the imperfections ;-), I know there are too many to count, point is I had a ton of fun building them and learned a lot in the process.

First up is Academy's OIF model. I think all I did to this was add the newer pads from Tamiya's kit and Tamiya/Trumpeter stowage.

Then I took another Academy M1 and used some A2 parts leftover from a Tamiya spru including the cupola, barrel, APU, and Eduard CIP.

The next two are Tamiya M1A2's oob. Second one isnt finished.

And then finally is this one. I really wish I had used a different decal set and changed that barrel.

I know you don't want pointers, but I'll give you one for your next build anyways. You should clean up the seam lines on your stowage. There are huge seams all along the bags. The colors are off on the gear too, not really your fault. Tamiya has it all wrong on their box. The rest of them look good. Good job on the paint jobs.

Great M1's

They look superb only one thing you need to get rid of the seam lines on the stowage

but great work!

Thanks for the compliments! I'm working on another A1 now, I'll be paying much closer attention to detail, and try to clean up the parts as much as possible. Gino, I was using AS-6 I think for the packs, Tamiya says to use XF-64, right? I was thinking, would TS-28 be a little closer?

Regards,

Marc

Don't know. Can't help you there, I don't use Tamiya paints. I use Testors Model Master enamals exclusively. I paint the bags either, Medium Green, OD, or Field Green to vary them a little They should be all one color though, straps and all. The sleeping mats should be Medium Green and the sleeping bag stuff sacks black. Fabric on cots Medium Green, etc...
