I have recently completed my kit of the AMR-UE and am stuck for a dio idea to use it in. The vehicle I have done has been captured and pressed into service by the Germans. During the time of its use it has been used as an artillery tractor, I have used a Nebelwerfer with it to show its small size, the UE has had a rough life and has damage, rust and the original green paint showing in area's. With the dio I wanted to have some sort of humour showing just how small these vehicles were but at the moment I cannot come up with any great idea. So I throw the floor open to you guys to see what you all can come up with. I am not worried about location or unit etc.
The pictures can been seen here;

Also in the album are some new photos of some dio's and other vehicles on their own awaiting homes, as I am moving house soon and am not sure how many are going to survive the trip.
Mnay Thanks
Robbo

First of all great job,
now about humor with the all story " The vehicle I have done has been captured and pressed into service by the Germans. During the time of its use it has been used as an artillery tractor " I might be not giving an answer about you question ( sorry about this !! ) but my idea was why don't you make some kind of ironic situation. The AMR-UE and the Nebelwerfer abandon by the German troop during the Russian campaign, so leave the vehicule with Nebelwerfer on the landscape and passing ( marching ) near it Russian soldiers looking at the strange vehicule some of them loughing about how small and ridiculous the AMR-UE is.
Just a though :-)

If you use Rima`s idea of the abandonned vehicle in Russia then you could do

Here in the US this may be a bit more appropriate
"Would you like to Biggie Size that?"
or
"Does size Really matter?"

If you have good hand and lot of imagination you might used and build Russian troops with those:
The second one on the right side if you change his ( on the picture ) right hand the onee down with the officer ( in blak ) hand, then he will laugh his head off :-) :-)
The officer there kan seriously make a good joke about the AMR-UE there and tell it to others
As i said use you imagination

How about having something huge passing it, with the crew pointing and laughing? That would really seem to emphasize how small it is ...
Another idea is to have it passing something like a broken-down panther, with the caption of "Hey, at least it runs"

I was thinking the same thing, if it's a late war kind of thing, havie it passing a broken down Kingtiger/Jadgtiger..
I'm not exactly sure the time frame you're looking for, early Eastern front maybe one of those big supersized Russian Behemoths with all the turrets.
Either way it would really emphasize the size difference
I have delusions of doing a modern German tank transporter covered with Wiesels...

You may leave deep mud track marks from a Tiger, just to show the size difference.

You could make it passing in front of an abandonned KV 1 soviet tank. The KV1 is a rather large tank and EEC makes a model of it.
Now, I've got a question for the history buffs : when did the nebelwerfer get into use ? I'm asking because german vehicles were repainted in dark grey in 1943. So if someone tells us that the nebelwerfer didn't come in use before late 43 or 44... then it'll be up to you to see if you don't mind or if you want to repaint.
Also, there's perhaps a bit too much rust on the vehicle. but that's a personal feeling.
Sorry, I'm being a bit picky. That's because you've done a great job and I like the choice of the subject !
