Hi there!

I am not an expert on the subject, but i guess that any standard german tiger / panzer crew would be suitable for the Sturmtiger.

Cheers!

Andy, any figures of Wehrmacht Heer ( Army ) panzer crews fielding the black panzerjacke / uniform would be acceptable. It's also possible some may have worn the field gray sturmartillerie jacke since they would often be outside the vehicle to operate the crane for loading the shells, but I'm not 100% sure about this.

As for Waffen SS panzer crews, I have no knowledge of any SS unit's fielding the Sturmtiger.
I only know of three independent Heeres Panzer Sturm-Morser Kompanie which were fielded during the war at army & korp level.

Below are a couple of photo's showing Heer sturm-morser crews

Hi Ralph regarding your post you said that the SS didn't use the SturmTiger but if i'm not mistaken from the looks of the pics you posted it appears the crew are SS judging by the deathshead and SS runes on the collars just an observation mate

Hey Lyndon,
The tank crews of the Wehrmacht/Heer wore collar insignia with the skull and crossbones death's head.
The death's head insignia had been worn in the past by Prussian cavalry units, WWI German stormtroopers and the interwar Freikorps.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Totenkopf

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_II_German_uniform

The SS wore a death's head insignia on their caps and hats.
The only units that wore them on their collars were units composed of concentration camp guards and the 3rd SS Totenkopf aka Death's Head Division

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS_unit_insignia

Many Heer panzer crews were mistreated or killed when captured because they wore black uniforms with the death's head on them and were mistaken for SS troops.

Cheers

Hi Lyndon, in regards to John's reply, the metal Totenkopf ( Death's Head ) on both left & right collar tabs that these crews wear are the insignia used by the Wehrmacht panzer crews. Also note that the German National eagle / swastika emblem is worn on the front right side of the panzerjacke ( just above the breast ), this was also the standard for all Wehrmacht uniforms.

The SS panzerjacke worn by Waffen SS panzer crews fielded the SS runes on the right collar tab & rank on the left collar tab. Secondly the German National eagle / swastika emblem was worn just above the elbow on the left sleeve of Waffen SS uniforms.

Also as John stated 3.SS Div. Totenkopf ( panzer crews as well as panzergrenadiers ) was the only Waffen SS combat unit to field the SS Totenkopf on the the right collar tab. The Waffen SS totenkopf was also different then the Wehrmacht's, as the SS design included the lower jaw.
The Wehrmacht totenkopf was without the lower jaw.

Hi John i managed to find some info that might interest you regarding the Totenkopf division they were known as the 3rd SS Panzer division commanded by Theodor Eicke and they were the only SS division to sport the new "anatomically corrected" deathshead emblem which was the skull similar to old Hussar emblem except the SS one was larger and had a lower jaw added this was worn on the collar whereas the other divisions wore the deathshead emblem on the field caps the only time the panzer crews sported the deathshead emblem was in 1935 and that was the old Hussar version i got this info from The Waffen SS Hanbook 1933-1945 by Gordon Williamson the info is from pages 112-116 regarding uniform and insignia
