I came back from this year's Nuremberg Fair last night and i'm now getting my head round to the several reports i'm going to be doing on specific manufacturers. The NEWS, as far as Allied (and particularly Allied/Commonwealth modelers) is concerned, couldn't be better.
Between MiniArt and Masterbox, you'll be seeing a Bedford-load of new releases in 1/35th scale.
British Engineers, Commonwealth Tank Crew figures, British Jeep Crew, British Tank Riders, U.S. Paras, U.S. Tank Crew, MORE British Paras, a REAL (80%) possibility of British Heavy Weapon sets along with more generic British Infantry sets. I'll be putting some detail up in the News Section in the next few days. Suffice to say, there are a LOT of surprises still to come!!!
As to Chas' appeal for Australian Infantry, it HASN'T been decided yet as the work involved with the New vehicles and Figures from Masterbox is (understandably) enormous...

Thanks for the good news Jim. I've decided to cut back on buying armour kits and dig into the stash but Masterbox and Miniart figure kits are "cheap as chips" for what you get, plus if I buy a couple or more my LHS proprietor usually adds a discount so I'll be getting most of these as they appear.

Hi Jim,
Thanks for the Heads Up. This is seriously good new for the Allies. Wow, some Engineers, never thought I'd see the day and the possibility of some heavy weapons .
Some of the best news so far, hats off to both companies.

This is great news ! . .Did they, I think Master box in particular, mention any more about the proposed Marines v Japanese sets they showed here on Armorama some time back?

@ Dave - funnily enough, Masterbox did slip me a couple of these sets
Oh, and there's another more 'Generic' set of Commonwealth figures getting released from DML - for Cassino. One of the excellent aspects of this set, is that it will include an Indian Infantryman...

Hey Jim,
Wow, it's a really nice surprise to see some more shots of the Japanese infantry kit.
I'm interested to know what is in the top left corner of that photograph. They look very much like Japanese puttees. Is it a painted version of the same Japanese inf. kit?
What exactly do you mean by "...slip me a couple of these sets"? Do you have this kit in your possession?
Sorry about all the questions, I know you will probably answer them in your news report/feature.
Good news that the Australian infantry appeal is still 'in the system'.
Chas

@Chas, yep, there were painted versions on the stand as well. As to the figures, i've no idea as to what sets they correspond to as I need to take a good look at them - I DID notice what looks like a Japanese 2" Mortar on one of the sprues though...

Oooh. So is the kit ready to go on the market and being manufactured? Or is it still a WIP?
Thanks,
Chas

Jim, That sounds promising, Does this also mean there is a possibility of having some Lee Enfield MkIII's in plastic other than the El Almein set?
