A very good review Herbert, I was a little surprised at the % score given the faults you pointed out but I know from experience that it is a subjective score.

Thanks, and yes, it is subjective indeed, but I chose this mark, as despite those points, this kit is a very special occasion in modelling land, something out of the extra ordinary and very far beyond.

You know those Pocher kits, those huge cars and trucks models, which are so complete you could fuel them up and drive away. This one is about up there, you'd be hardpressed to find anything missing.

So, flash apart and a shoddy manual, or better said, one that could be improved a lot, and judging by other manuals, it is Trumpter thing, you cannot call this model, even if you aren't a modeller at all, anything else than exceptional.

Herbert had also asked me to have a word with Aber about update sets. This should answer some of his questions. Not a replacemnt barrel - a new muzzle break and they're working on a PE set for the interior as well:

That is pretty damn impressive already, do you know if the Schurzen are preformed or need to be folded?

And knowing Aber, there's bound to be working catches and such for the OVM and all.

Excellent review Herbert. I have one of these beasts on the bench as we speak. The one thing I wish they would have done differently is with the rubber parts. I think they could have been done just as well in styrene and that would have made assembly and seam removal much simpler. But I still think this is one exceptional kit.

I almost had a coronary when I heard about this kit, and sweaty palms when I not only saw one at my neighborhood hobby store, but was offered a deal on it as it wasn't selling. Considering the price I wasn't surprised. In the end I walked away as the several-hundred dollar price tag was too dear for me as I'm pretty dedicated to 1/35th and can buy a whole whack of kits for te price of one of these magnificent beasts. Nonetheless I still regret not having picked up the kit when it was offered at a discount...sucker that I am.
