Hi all
Heres my Dragon Tiger I late all built and ready for paint.
I like the idea of dragon doing pre-zimmerit on there kits as it saves me money on resin zim, just wish they can be a bit more creative by adding some chipped off zimmerit.I think they have done a better job on there new panther G kit.
Anyway back to the Tiger,i had to remove 1 link on both tracks as it was way too long even with the idler arm in the fully back position.Dragon supply a PE zimmerit that is ment for the front plate, but i desided not to use it and done my own using putty and a zimmerit roller. After some research and not knowing which muzzle brake to install i found out tigers built from april 44 recieved the smaller muzzle brake

.
Thanks for your time
Karl
Just a quick note about the drive wheels i had to super glue a poly cap cut in half and placed inside the drive wheels as they were very loose and keept falling off, seem to be a lot better now.

Going for a 3 tone dark yellow/red brown/green.iv been thinking about a base coat of light yellow followed by the dark yellow just to brighten it up a bit.
Desided to paint it as wittmanns village bocage Tiger as i have dragons wittmann and crew figures.
Thanks Deano

Thanks for all your feedback.
Going to make a start on painting it tomorrow.
preshade with a dark grey.
spray Tamiya yellow.
spray vallejo dark yellow.
followed by the camo green/red brown.
Now in the past i have always applyed future for the decals but when it comes to filters they dont take very well on a gloss finish,so i shall just coat it with testors dull-cote.
Hope it turns out ok

hi karl
im looking forward to you painting your kitty and seeing how it turns out.
when i apply my filter i paint it straight on to the bare acrylic matt finish and i usually use mig's 'wash brown' oil paint thinned heavily with white spirit once the filter has dried i then spray a coat of klear.

Cheers Darren.i only put the wheels and tracks on for illustration purposes as these will be painted off the tiger.
Neil might try the way you do it,ill see how it goes.
Deano i only have dark wash in enamels so i have to use migs tri camo filters.
Just noticed on the 1st picture just above the tow hook is a small dimple that i will have to remove, glad i seen it now and not after paint

.
Regards
Karl

Karl,
Nice BIg Cat you've got there. I am rather partial to them. How are the DS tracks to work with? I've got several

(many) kits in my stash with those tracks and have not built any with them. Yet. Looking forward to following the progress of your Cat.
Cheers
Dave

Neat build Karl. Not much to pick on. The zimmerit look well tidy!
The problem with those DS tracks is that they have a little too much "spring" in them for my liking. They really need to be glued into place. I had a few issues with them on my Tarawa Sherman. Wont use them again. AFV Club have a set of plastic workables for a decent price!!

One thing though, shouldn't your convoy light be blue?

Hey Karl! Nice camo job on the Tiger!

I like the subtle finish on the weathering, with the depth of the pattern you could easily darken off the colours to much, I like the mod on the turrets front side, it takes away that cloned feel. Great job, I,m getting a good fill of Tigers whilst I am away from the workbench!
Thanks for sharing... Phil.
