Hi guys. I have rather a redundant question (or more), but I'll ask anyway. Please don't mind my lack of knowledge on this area, since I am a newbie in painting and modelling in general.
* If the entire model has been airbrushed with Tamiya acrylics, can I use Future floor polish on top so that the decals have a good base?
* If yes, then can I apply Future by airbrush (thinned or not)?
* How many layers of Future are needed?
* After the decals have been laid, should I apply another coat of Future?
* What can I use for wash weathering after the decals have been sprayed with Future (assuming that Future is the way to go)
* After all wash and weathering is done, what is being used to secure the paint?
I really hope that I am not beothering you with so many questions. Happy modelling.
:-)

Here we go:
- Yes
- Thinned. Approx 60:40
- Enough to get a good smooth gloss coat
- Some do, some don't. personal preference
- Use your regular wash techniques. Avoid acrylic washes thinned with acrylic thinner as it may ruin the Future
- a good clear flat coat.

Thanks Tim. Now what do you use to thin Future? I guess from your answer, that instead of acrylics, I should use enamels for wash and weathering. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Oops, sorry. Thin Future with denatured alcohol or anything that you would thin acrylic paints with. You can use enamels, oils, watercolors, or pastels for weathering.

Thanks again Tim. I suppose 60% Future and 40% alcohol?
Happy modelling!

yes, when writing proportions or percentages, usually the number for paint (or in this case varnish) is written first, and the number for solvent is written secondly.

Yeah, that's what I'm shooting for, but with the way I haphazardly pour things together who knows what I actually end up with. #:-)

God bless Johnson's Future floor varnish, and it smells great too! :-)
