Hi all,
Hopefully I can get this post to show up in the What If? section this time lol. If not, giving up on this one!
Here's another old what if build of mine. My local IPMS club has a club build every year with a different theme. This particular year, we had the Heller Leo 1 as a starting point. I had a couple of old Nebelwerfers kicking around, so decided to mount them in a hypothetical turret on a Leopard chassis. The lights and kugleblende came from one of my son's old Gundam kits. This one was a lot of fun! It's still not complete, no washes, drybrushing, weathering or anything. Probably never will be either truth be told. Enjoy!

Matt,
Very creative! Builds like this could almost make me want a "modern" tank kit.
Love what you've done with the Nebbie's....very slick. A "12-pack of hell hath no fury like Nebb!" The two round items on the left and right front of the turret; what are those? Spots?

Thank you Scott!
And Mike,
Go figure.. TacFireGuru likes a close support artillery vehicle!
The Nebels just seemed to "Belong" there when I was goofing around with build ideas.
And yes, the round cans are supposed to be some sort of spotlight. If I had ever finished this, the lenses would have been painted silver with a gloss coat over them. Thinking back on it now, why the hell would anything arty need spotlights? lol That disk in the front is supposed to be some sort of radar dish too.
Generally, I tried to create a modern Gepard kind of vibe to this, 'cept instead of AA, I chose close arty support!
Thanks for the comment, good to talk to ya again!

Now that is one neat looking vehicle!!! And no one can say you didn't paint it the right shade or you missed a detail.
Hope to see more vehicles like these.

Hi Jim, Darryl and Shaun,
Thank s for the positive reinforcement. This WAS a ton 'o' fun to build.
Darryl, I've just now had another idea or a similar theme.
Anyone have a complete Merkava lower hull kicking around? There's another turret that would look pretty slick on top. Not telling yet.. .dont want to spoil the suprise!

Hello Matt!!
I have to say but that honestly is one of the coolest kits I have seen in a long time. I shows alot of creativity and serious amount of fun...hey, wait! Isn't that what modeling is supposed to be??!! It sure was a pleasure to see your work and keep it up. I, along with many others, would surely love to see more!
Keep it up! Your doing great!!!!
Best,
Walter

Yes! I like this type of modeling project creativity.
I might have one. Do you need the wheels and tracks too? I may have used a couple wheels for something else. And the tracks

HI guys,
Mark, Walter, thanks guys, yes. .modeling IS SUPPOSED to be fun! I have something else that was even more fun, but more sci fi, and not sure if it would be proper for an armor forum.
KoSprueOne, I would need the tracks and wheels as well, Or perhaps not, I think I have some spare panther wheels somewhere, and KNOW I have a lot of pather indi links around!
Sean, that looks way cool. Actually the thing I was thinking ofw was something similiar, bu thte barrels wouldnt be so long
Thanks guys, it's VERY encourraging to read all your resopnses!

I love sci-fi and armor! Apart from stuff like the Aliens APC I've never mixed the 2, although your build has started some thinking along those lines.
If you're not sure about it fitting here try http://www.starshipmodeler.net
It's just as nice a bunch of folks over there, just with different tastes... I usually jump between here and there depending on the genre I'm currently in the mood for.

Model Geek has all Sci-Fi section as well. There's no need to go anywhere away from KitMaker Network (though Starshipmodeler is great as well).
I love the tank! Looks great! Very nice camo scheme as well.
