Hi,
I am looking for an M1A2 abrams 1/35th scale model and have seen a number of offerings around. I am looking for a cheap and fair detailed kit, the cheapest offer I have seen is Italeri's but I want to know of other's experiences with the kit first. Tamiya is excellent but quite costy for my budget.
please advise me

The M1A2 Sep from DML would appear to be the most accurate and can be picked up from model hobbies on special offer for about £20, but you will need to watch for it as it is and then is not on offer quite quickly. I also bought Trumpeter's 5 in 1 M1A1/2 kit for between £16 - 17 and was quite pleased with the level of detail for the price, the big plus with this kit is all the other options it gives you as regards how you wish to build it, and the number of spares you will get with it.

Well, I've got several of all the kits produced, and the best kits available are the Dragon M1A2 SEP and the M1A1 AIM, but they are not cheap. If you check on Ebay, you might be able to find one of the earlier DML / Dragon M1kits. They were not bad for the price. Tamiya's M1A2 is good too. Italeri's is ok, but don't get the one with the resin parts, I don't feel that it's worth the price. stay away from the Trumpeter and Academy ones. If you go to Pavel Vodnick's web site, he did a comparison review of all the kits prior to the AIM and SEP kits coming out.
Hope this helps, Jerry
