hello Sarge !
I know nothing about the Royal Models stuff, so I can't say anything about it.
about Eduard and ABER :
- Eduard is a bit easier to work with and it's cheaper
- ABER is morecomplete, has smaller pats... so it's more difficult to work with, and it's a bit more expensive.
If you often work with PE and want the best result, go with ABER ! If you're not all that comfortable with PE, you'd better get yourself the first set with Eduard and ask yourself the same question again for the second model...
I've got an Aber set for the Pak 40 and I must say it's realy impressive ! I'm keeping it on my shelf until I get a bit more practice with PE.
good luck Sarge !
And good luck if you've got to take trains or metro or buses...

Hey there,
For the Tiger I, you have many, many options....
I have used the Eduard for the Tamiya Early/Mid production tank... and like it a lot.
The Aber set for the Early is very thorough - thoug it is also very, expensive ($50+)
For the Late Tiger 1, definitely Aber all the way...
For the King Tiger,
Either Aber or Eduard, it's very close, just be careful which set that you buy with Eduard as the had some earlier sets for the "original" Tamiya King Tiger. I am currently about half way through with Eduard Sets for the Tamiya "Production" KT... it's been very easy to use and quite complete.
The Royal Model sets for the Tigers are starting to show their age... however, they are still an excellent value. These sets also include some extra bits in resin so, you might have an easier time of it.
I recently used the Royal Model Tiger I Fender set... it was very nice - here's a shot of the model showing the parts that I used.
Later,
Tim

Sarge59,
The eduard stuff is good but the Aber stuff is better in terms of detail. Eduard stuff tends to be very flat with not much profile to some shapes. Consider the engine grills from the new aber set, they are etched in such a way that they look woven, the eduard stuff on the other hand is just flat. I guess it all depends upon the level of realism that you want. The drawback to aber stuff of course is cost. The big aber stuff for the tiger is not cheap but it is VERY comprehensive - of course you will go blind by the time you have put it all togeher
