Does anyone know of kits that can be converted into American Paratroopers wearing the early uniform (pre- September 1944) that would work for troopers in Sicily ?
I saw Verlinden made a conversion set but I couldn't tell what uniform it converts to.
I want the figures to be in poses similar to the poses of Dragons 2nd Armored division infantry kit, I've read that this kit can be converted but I'm not sure what needs to be done for such a conversion.

Thanks in advance.

hi Cody masterbox does some paratroopers, don't know if uniforms are pre sept 44 or not, and the poses might not be what your after but that's all i can think of at the mo... as regards to the verlinden conversion it might cause you problems, coz although it says 1/35th on the box it is slightly bigger compare a verlinden garand rifle to a dragon gen2 one and you'll see what i mean. I kinda thought the Verlinden set might be on the large end of 1/35 scale, thanks for confirming this for me.

the dragon models set 'Advance to the Rhine' i think it is called contains uniforms that could be easily converted to the early uniform.

hi buddy!

see, the early paratrooper's uniforms have 2 buttons on the flap of the pocket (the 4 ones in the jacket and the other 2 in the trousers) that means that if the soldiers you are trying to convert have 4 pockets on ther jacket and 2 in the trousers, you can convert them very easily!
you just have to do the 2 buttons and remove the original one in the center.
that means, as far as i know, the set of the 2nd armored division is very easy to convert!
you also have to make the straps over the leg pockets (you may take as example the set of the screaming eagles in normandy by dragon)
the last step is painting them in beige tones, instead of the OD green!

if some other out there have other information, please just correct me!

I wold love to see some pictures from your figures in the future; I'm also making an airborne diorama!

Excuse for my english, Im form Argentina.
