Are these kits making a come-back? I have a friend that like to build 1/48th scale, and he is always looking for more subjects.

There is a poster at a quarterscale forum who says Bandai showed up at a Tokyo toy fair a few years ago with a few of their 1/48 kits, but they decided to concentrate on gundam and leave the 1/48 to new Tamiya, etc. The answer is thus 'who knows?" However, between Bandai, FROG and Fuman, these are fairly easy to find and buy.
