Yep count me onboard Tim! This blog will really tip the balance on my pondering whether to plan a build of a 1/16 Tiger 1 in the future, looking forward to the journey

looking a real good 'un'.

Cheers for the Tiger Eye Candy! Phil
Ps... Sorry to mither but the hinged flap on top of the muffler stack, on my references these are usually mirrored with the hinge to the outside, but I reckon that maybe a field service crew could have refitted the plate reversed on one exhaust in haste, nothing like an 'incoming' to speed things up eh?

Hi again Tim!

Had a quick trawl through the very untidy reference collection and found a match for the fording flaps!

'732' ex 132 of the s.Pz.-Abt 501 seconded by the 7th Pz.-Rgt of the 10th Pz.- Division. Is this this the vehicle you intend to depict? Anyway humble pie for supper for me then

...

Cannot wait for the next installment
Phil.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments and feedback. Phil, Im going to build it as S33. As for the exhaust flaps.. well, your right..thats what I get for just checking a museam photo instead of wartime pics! The Tamiya kit actually has you assemble them with the flap facing the rear..which I didnt check until after they were assembled. So, had to saw them apart and change..and yet, now that you mentioned it, I was still wrong! according to museam samples anyway . oh well, now that its painted Im not goin to change it.but if you see any other things feel free to correct me.

oh, and to specify..S33 may have been missing some things in photos, but just to give the model a bit more interest Im including them here..like the tool box. The exhaust shields will still be left off.

Tim, that looks like a giant! can't wait to see her finished.
Heres a link to some pictures of several Das Reich tigers including S33. I used it when building my tiger, S13. Hope you find it useful!

Looking Excellent Tim!

Though I do have a concern... How much money am I looking at spending when I take the plunge and get one also?

The sheer weight and presence of the Tiger gets even more awesome in this scale, even without paint!
Looking forwards to more... A lot more. Phil

Hi Neil, you are correct, they do already have the welds ..not just on the clasps but for anything that should have been welded on..including all the mounts for the sideskirts.

Tim,
Excellent Tiger!
In your first post, you wrote

...Its the static kit, ...
But in your second post I noticed what appears to be a battery carrier, wiring and a switch in one of the photos of the hull.
What's up with that? Sound effects?

the static kit comes with the drive motors and battery compartment..so basically its a motorized model, without the R/C equipment. I was going to leave it out, but its basically required in order to install the drive sprockets.
