In Tankograd Publishing book 'Armoured/Gun Trucks of the US Army in Iraq' there are four photos of two interesting Gun Truck conversions:

At the two photos above there is a version with four-doors ASK and field-made gunner armored 'box'. At the two photos below is a version with two-doors ASK with armored rear and armored shield from M113 ACAV. The same day when I saw this Humvees I bought two models to bulid them

But... have You got any more pictures of these verions?

I apologize for posting under my previous post.
I've got one more interesting picture of OIF Gun Truck (from Polish military magazine 'Armia' 1/2009):

Have You got any more photos of this Humvee?

Sorry, no pics to offer, but that last one looks great for a scratch-build project!
Cheers,

That's the point. I'm going to buy Tamiya Humvee and Eduard ASK photoetched set for this project. And I think this only one picture should be enough. And with those two versions from previous picture it will be a little 'OIF Gun Trucks' campaign on my workbench

Sounds like fun Kuba...good luck and post pics please.
I'm thinking of taking some of my earlier very poor builds and giving them an overhaul with scratch built & aftermarket armor etc. Your pics look like what I'd like to achieve.

Sean - half of my collection of 10 Humvees has over 10 years. But after my come back to modelling one-and-a-half year ago (I build only Humvees since that moment) these 5 models are re-made. They looked tragic, but now I'm very proud of them

So I think that back to some models is sometimes a good idea.
Now I'm working on such version (M1097 HMMWV Gun Truck, picture from the same Tankograd book):

and this model is getting a second life too. It was Italeri's M998 Command Humvee earlier and it was very poor. I think in some days it will be finished and then I'll start with these three Gun Trucks from pictures in this topic.

I've got first picture - view of front, but I was wondering how the rear looks like, now I know it. So my list of Gun Trucks to build is longer.
One more time - thanks a lot Frenchy!

I've decided not to look any more photos of Humvee. More photos - more models to build
I'm joking, of course. But it's truth, that now I'm planning to make about ten Humvees and I can't decide, wchich one is to build firstly.
Thanks a lot for all Your photos.

Bill,
It would be interesting to note when that one was taken, if the data is available on the site.
So much for the myth that the ACU is the only uniform authorized in theater. Those appear to be SF, and I know anything went at least into late '08.

Not doubting you, but I'm curious to know how they appear to be SF.

IIRC they are US Navy SEALS and US SF with iraqi SF. the vests and helmet styles give them away, the vests are Eagle Industries MARCIRAS (maritime CIRAS) and the helmets are the standard MICH helmet with notoros inc tri point nvg mounts.

I'll go with the first reply. Btw, how can you tell the NVG mount in that pic? All I see is the back of everyones heads (and yes, even the other mount besides the diamond plate can be mounted with a screw).

Had I seen Bill's (CrossedRifles) question I would have responded the same way. SF does not use the helmet cover and usually sprays cammo (poorly at times) on their helmets. Of course the body armor is the other giveaway. We use the maritime CIRAS because of it's quick release armor dump capability for used in waterborne ops. Finally, the non standard footwear, however, I've seen it creeping into leg units as well these days.
Interesting, the Slovenian SF uses the same body armor.

Here is Humvee sitting in the back of the Army Reserve. Sorry about the quality of the picture. They have others painted sand color.
