Hi Guys, can anyone help with colours used to paint the "Flying Dustbin" used in Churchill AVRE petard mortars? I have numerous photos of the projectiles but all are BW.
Most phots show them as per the top picture, which I'm guessing has black stenciling and a red band, for a live round, but what is the base colour?


I also have one with a different finish,how common is this version? Would it be Dark Green, with metal trim?


another couple of questions about the weapon itself. Would there be any scorching left by the mortar when fired? Also what colour would the parts, of the mortar, inside the turret be painted?
