If it could have happened on the West, it certainly could on the East as well.

Thanks for the pictures and comments. I've decided that i'm going to paint it green as there is a slim chance that there might have been one or two that were repainted. Is there a place i can get russian number plates for the kubelwagen or does anyone have any spare i could have please ?
Thanks
Willow
Thanks

Hey Willow
If I remember right there was only two Kubles built, I think both wear destroyed. But anything can happen when your building a what-if.

Looks like Revell's 1/9 Kubelwagen kit contains "markings" for one captured by Soviets. It sports original Dunkelgelb (dark yellow) coat with new owner's licence plate (bottom right):

Willow,
While I can’t find a picture of a Kubelwagen or Schwimmwagen that’s was captured by and re-lettered for RUSSIAN service, I found quite a few that were re-lettered for service with the western Allies.
Two pictures of Schwimms; #1 depicting a Schwimmwagen in either UK or CAN service #2 depicting a Schwimm that MAY be in the process of being re-lettered (note the soldier on the right with the brush in his hands).

A Schwimm in Canadian service (the picture is suspiciously clear , so it might be from a movie or re-enactment).
