I am looking for suitable figures both tank crew and infantry for a diorama I am doing here. The setting is 2004 Iraq and I am looking for the tank crew figures for at least one M1A2SEP, and maybe the second tank will at least have its commander in place. I have located a figure to help visualize the title of the diorama thanks to Pat, but I really need a military figure of a suitable period using binoculars that I can convert to show using a camera. The figures can be in resin or plastic, I have looked at the DML offering for the tank crew but I am not desperate to get hold of them just yet. Any help you can give me will be appreciated.

Hi Darren,
Unfortunately I don't have any suggestions, as this is a period I am pretty clueless about. Just letting you know I've changed your post title slightly - hopefully it helps garner more attention.
I am curious to see what the boys pull up, so I'll keep an eye on the thread

Hi Darren
as regards to tank crew you have a few options:
Verlinden:- did a couple of M1a1 crew sets that are quite good, they also did a whole heap of US soldier sets that can easily be kit bashed into any situation
Warrrior:- I think did 2 sets one set in the turret the other set standing and kneeling outside. but i would also look at their LAV, AAVP crew figures as well as again they will be suitable ( as crew or soldiers), as well as some USMC figures that may work.
Alphine minitures :- did a set of two crew figures standing
MIG productions:- have a few modern US infantry figures (more suited as USMC) that are very good
Helo minitures:- did a couple of sets for the striker that again will fit the bill
Blast Models:- have some nice figures although the scale does differ a little between them.
Azimute:- have done a couple of modern sets
Royal Model :- do a set of civilian photographers that may help (SB models in the UK)
New world miniatures:- do some modern US soldiers
Trumpeter:- do a couple of sets in plastic that are a little hit and miss but can be made reasonable with some new heads and a bit of re-sculpting.
I think you will have to find some figures close to the posses you require and then remake arms etc or kit bash to suit

Darren,
There are number of OIF figures in 1/35. I'm used to work with resin, so I'm going to give you some pointers where to find them...
Blast models make very nice OIF infantry figures:
http://www.blast-models.com/
Alpine has two really great tank crew sets:
HobbyFan has some as well and there are several tank crew sets:
Perhaps these would come in handy as well because one of the guys is holding a binoculars:
Warriors and Verlinden make OIF figures as well; do a serach for them on Great Models.
As for Dragon's tank crew; IIRC it is located in Desert Storm timeframe and are not suitable for OIF. You might check that with Gino, I'm sure he knows more.
Hope this helps,
Mario
EDIT: oops, it seems I've been typing at the same time as Keith.
HELO figures are also quite nice:

and MIG has some OIF figures that were previously released under Think180 label, but as said, those are mostly Marines in MOPP suits.

Thank you everyone that does give me some options, I didn't realize there were that many suitable time period figures. This information is very useful.
