I have recently purchased the Italeri PT boat and it's ten piece crew.
My problem is ,I can't seem to find a good reference for their uniform colors.I know they're shades of blue, but I've also seen photos of yellow life jackets instead of grey.
The only good reference photos I find with the jackets are only in black and white.
Doe's anyone have a good site or the knowledge I'm lacking on this?

Tom,
I think I have some references on the USN. I'll have a look this evening when I get home unless someone else can help out before that.

Navy Chiefs-1945--- note the vast leeway in uniform regs.
Enlisted would wear basically the same, except for the chief hats, and khaki shirts. Enlisted shirts were a light blue chambray, or a dark blue. Pants were typical dungaree blue. A dark blue dungaree working jacket was often worn. Enlisted hats would be either a blue ball cap, or Navy Dixie Cup, (white or dyed dark blue.
Officers would wear Khaki shirts and trousers
Winter wear heavy deck jackets (foul weather jacket):
N-1--- Dark Blue
N-1---- Khaki
N-1 ---- Green
A variety of deck Jackets:
On the rear of the jackets were often stenciled the ships name and or number, and division.
Chiefs and officers were issued the same foul weather jackets as enlisted, except theirs were normally new issue, and enlisted were suppose to turn in their foul weather jackets after the winter season, for cleaning and storage. ( I never turned mine in and wore it for years after discharge, until I out grew it! ) Many officers, and old salts found ways to get hold of leather avator jackets.
Hope that helps.
